ADVERTISEMENT FOR ACADEMIC AND NON-TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS
  • Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) is a Federal Government Licensed Private University situated at Ado-Ekiti.
  • Location: The University which is built on a permanent site covers an area of 1,300 Acre of land on a high altitude of 17,500ft above sea level thereby providing cool and ideal climate for learning, sporting activities and commercial agriculture.
  • Structures on ground: Imposing state-of-the-art and fully air-conditioned structures for Physical Sciences, Social and Management Sciences, Law, Sports, Hostels, Staff Quarters and modern cafeteria which provides Local, English and Continental dishes, ABUAD Bottle Water Plant, ABUAD Bakery, ABUAD Printing Press, Tuck Shops etc.

His Council and the Vice Chancellor were also rated as the best in the country when he was the Pro-Chancellor of Lagos University  and the First Africa Man to be awarded Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) by the University of London.

Applicant must possess the following:
i           Basic degree in Nursing from reputable University, registrable with
           Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
ii.        A Ph.D. degree in a related field (Professional Health Psychology,
           Clinical Psychology, Public Health/ Epidemiology). Ph.D. degree in
           Nursing will be an advantage
iii.       At least 9 years of teaching experience in University for the
          position of Reader, and at least 12 years for the position of
          Professor
iv.       Outstanding research capability and demonstrate ability to
            supervise research projects.
(B)     Senior Lecturer
Applicants must possess the following:
i.          Basic degree in Nursing from reputable University, registrable with
           Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
ii.        Ph.D. Degree in related field (Professional Health Psychology,
           Clinical Psychology, Public Health/ Epidemiology). Ph.D. degree in
            Nursing will be an advantage.
iii.       Adequate professional competence.
iv.       University Teaching and research experience of not less than six 
            years.
v.         Demonstrate ability to supervise research projects.

ACADEMICS STAFF QUALIFICATION
Professor/Reader
Candidate applying for the post of Professor must possess a PhD with at least 10 years teaching and research experience in the University in the relevant fields and 8 years for Readership. Candidates must have outstanding record of scholarly publications along with evidence of considerable teaching and research, demonstrable capacity for academic leadership, as well as proficiency in ICT. Candidates are expected to be registered with the various recognized professional bodies, as applicable.
Senior Lecturer
Candidate applying for the post of Senior Lecturer must possess a PhD with at least 6 years teaching and cognate experience supported with a suitable number of publications and ICT proficiency.
Lecturer I
Candidate applying for the post of Lecturer I must possess a PhD with at least 4 years teaching and research experience along with a suitable number of publications and ICT proficiency.






NON-TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS
Principal Assistant Registrar
Candidates must possess the following
  1. Basic degree in Arts or Social and Management Science. Higher degree will be an advantage.
  2. Adequate professional competence
  3. Experience of not less than six (6) years in University Administration.
  4. Computer literacy.
     
Senior Assistant Registrar
Candidates must possess the following
  1. Basic degree in Arts or Social and Management Sciences. Higher degree will be an advantage.
  2. Adequate professional competence.
  3. Experience of not less than four (4) years in University Administration.

Administrative Officers 
Candidates must possess the following
  1. Basic degree in Arts or Social and Management Sciences.

  1. Basic Degree or Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies.
  2. Adequate professional competence.

A registered Nurse (NRN) and a certified midwife (Midwifery Council)
  1. One or two years experience in out-patient department of a hospital or health center.
  2. Must be under 45 years of age.
SALARY PACKAGE
Salary and allowances which are personal and negotiable are higher than Federal Government consolidated unitary salary structure. Salary increment is based on productivity and contribution to the development of the University.
RETIREMENT, PENSION AND OTHER WELFARE SCHEMES.
The University operates a contributory Pension Fund as enacted by the Act of the National Assembly. It is mandatory for all tenure staff to take part in the contributory pension scheme.
The University shall pay 7½ percent of the staff monthly basic salary to the pension fund while the staff shall pay 7½ percent towards the fund.  The University has also put in place insurance scheme for all staff. A staff shall not be hindered by the University from drawing from the pension and insurance schemes in respective of the service status in the University.
 In addition, the University offers highly subsidized accommodation facilities for staff on the campus with adequate water and electricity supply, sports and recreational facilities in a quiet and serene environment.

i.          Must have passion for teaching
ii.        Must be disciplined, dedicated, loyal and well dressed.
iii.       Must be ready to imbibe ABUAD’s philosophy to reform Education by example.
iv.       Must have the ability for team-work and have a high level of human relation skills.
v.         Must be ready to engage in high quality academic research and contribute meaningfully to human development.
vi.       Must be computer literate and capable of using modern teaching and research facilities including electronic interactive boards, intra-communication platforms and online libraries.
