Vacancy for a Loan Recovery Officer in a Micro-finance Bank in Lagos

A rapidly expanding state -licensed Micro-finance Bank with head-quarters in Lagos requires application from suitable candidates to fill vacant position of:


Job Title: Loan Recovery Officer
Location: Lagos
Job Description 

• To ensure healthy loan portfolio management and ensure portfolio quality meets regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Achieve the required threshold on past due obligations on assigned portfolio
• Execute the loan recovery policies and procedures on assigned portfolio
• Take ownership of assigned delinquent portfolio
• Follow up on defaulting clients on previous payment arrangement
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of defaulting clients with actions taken and the next course of actions.
• Ensure proper monitoring of the loan portfolio
• Negotiate repayment terms with defaulting clients
• Investigate and thoroughly understand borrowers’ challenges and proffer solutions for resolving such delinquent loans.
• Perform administrative work or other job functions related to recoveries.

Relevant Skills, Qualification, Attributes & Experience 

• Minimum of 2-3 years cognate experience in loan recovery in a properly structured Microfinance Bank
• Assertive and Strong Negotiation Skills.
• Excellent communication, reporting,& interpersonal skills.
• Applicants must not be more than 35 years.
• B.Sc/HND in a Numerate discipline or the Social Sciences.
• Good Knowledge of banking laws and regulatory practices.
