Vacancy Announcement: Human Resource & Organisation Effectiveness (HROE) Manager

Location: Abuja
ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) is a not for profit, non-governmental entity registered with the Nigeria Corporate Affairs Commission. It commenced operations in Nigeria in 1999, while the programmatic operations commenced in January 2000 through a Country Agreement signed with the National Planning Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
ActionAid is an anti-poverty agency that prioritises works with the poor and excluded; promoting values and commitment in civil society, institutions and governments with the aim of achieving structural changes in order to eradicate injustices and poverty in the world. ActionAid Nigeria is an affiliate of ActionAid International, an International Non-Governmental organisation registered in The Netherlands with its headquarters in Johannesburg South Africa. ActionAid International works in more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
AAN is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of HROE Manager.
Person Specifications
Education/Qualifications
  • First Degree in Social Sciences, Arts or Humanities is essential.
  • Masters degree with specialisation in Human Resources Management is essential.
Experience
  • At least 8 years minimum working experience is essential
  • At least four (4) years HRIOE experience in a large organisation with hands on experience in full cycle management of recruitment, performance management and other core HRIOD deliverables is essential.
  • Good knowledge of National Labour laws and Employee Relations Systems is essential
Skill/Abilities
  • Excellent management & leadership skills is essential
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, documentation and presentation skills are essential.
  • Excellent skills in communication and report writing skills is essential
  • Excellent skills in facilitation and capacity building for inter-linkages amongst staff, partners & stakeholders are essential.
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills are essential.
  • Ability to think strategically with strong analytical/problem solving skills is essential.
  • Excellent financial skills are desirable.
  • Membership of related professional institutions is an added advantage
Personal Qualities
  • Demonstrable commitment to supportive team working
  • Ability to creatively take initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment Effective IT skills.
  • Written and Oral Communications skills.
  • Willing to work additional hours at crucial times
